Two Sunnyside residents riding a motorcycle were killed after crashing into a van while traveling in the wrong direction of a one-way street, police said.

Steven Goddard was operating a 2018 Suzuki DRZ motorcycle with Amy Gutierrez seated behind him on Saturday morning when they crashed into an oncoming red Ford E250 on 43rd Avenue.

Police said Goddard was speeding before the crash.

The 27-year-old driver of the van remained on the scene as police arrived at the collision nearby 38th Avenue in Sunnyside.

Goddard, 22 and Gutierrez, 20 both of Sunnyside, were taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center for “severe body trauma” where they were both pronounced dead, police said.

The van driver refused medical attention and was not arrested.

The NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision is continuing the investigation.
