Maspeth Woman Frightens Off Attempted Burglar

A Queens woman managed to scare off a burglar as he scaled her home in Maspeth, cops from the 104th Precinct said on Wednesday.

The incident began at around 2 a.m. on Oct. 16, when the 24-year-old victim heard a noise near the back door of her home, located near 61st Road and 69th Street. Upon investigating, she noticed the suspect trying to climb up onto her home’s second story deck.

She proceeded to bang on the window and startle the suspect, who fell from the deck and ran off in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as being a Hispanic man, 35-45 years old, approximately 5'10" tall, weighing 180 lbs., with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
