A school safety agent was busted on Saturday for stealing a Nike sweatsuit from a Macy’s inside Queens Center, authorities announced on Monday.

Lauren Owens, 27 of Brownsville, Brooklyn, was spotted by an asset protection officer taking a Nike sweatshirt and Nike sweatpants off the sales rack and placing them inside a bag and walk out of the department store without paying.

According to the criminal complaint, Owens was stopped outside of the Elmhurst mall with the stolen merchandise and cutters “commonly used for committing offenses involving larceny.”

Owens was charged with possession of burglary tools, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

A Nike sweatshirt cost between $45 to $175 and a Nike sweatpant can cost between $25 to $90, according to Macys.com.

According to public records, Owens earned over $43,000 a year.

Law enforcement sources said Owens accepted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal agreement at her arraignment in Queens Criminal Court that will get wiped from her criminal record in six months.
